1. I did pond work on 9/7/26, Labor Day, at 11:24 am because it's a day of Labor! I used to repot all my water iris on this day but that hasn't been done in so many years that most have died or jumped their pots. I did my regular Sunday chores on this Monday because I went to a disabled relative's house to do chores for them on Sunday.
Both ponds were at 70 degrees F, and the air was 76 degrees F. I squirted all the filter materials. I put fertilizer in the only thriving waterlily pot. I removed leaves from it like every week and a bunch of yellow arrowhead leaves. The arrowhead jumped the pot years ago, and it's rooted on the liner. It won't pull up without putting a hole in the liner! That's what I get for being old and lazy! I just have too much to do, and my body is falling apart. This week alone, I'm getting PT for a weak and damaged shoulder, went to the eye doctor for floaters, and had my first real heart palpitations on Saturday. Everyone knows getting old sucks but you don't realize how much until you live it!
