1. I did pond work on 8/4/24 even though I was dizzy and weak. It was too hot again. The air temperature was 80 degrees F with 100% humidity at 11:30 am. We got an inch of rain the night before so everything was wet. The 1800 gallon pond was at 79 degrees F, and the 153 gallon pond was at 78 degrees F. I squirted all the filter materials, put in additives, and topped off just the big pond because it keeps losing water, about an inch a day.
2. The hose popped off the auxiliary pump again on 8/9/24. This is getting old fast.
3. On 8/11/24 at 1:28 pm, the air temperature was 80 degrees F with 100% humidity. Both thermometers in the ponds read 76 degrees F. I squirted off all the filter materials and the bioballs. There was one two-lined salamander adult and one small frog (hopped fast so don't know the species) in the biofilter. I moved the salamander to the main pond. The bioball and lava rock bags were the heaviest they have ever been, presumably because the last cleaning was done by my niece when I couldn't stand. She wasn't as aggressive and thorough as I am with the bags. I put additives in the ponds.
The water level was low on the big pond despite two inches of rain a few days before so I am worried about that. I fill the big pond and looked at the place where the water is supposed to come out and didn't find any water at first so I could try to raise the liner. Later, I found water coming out the bottom of the largest rock farther down the overflow. I can't adjust wherever that is coming from.
4. I did pond chores on Monday, 8/19/24. I had the day off to do chores. At 1:12 pm, the air temperature was 80 degrees F. The thermometers in both the 1800 and 153 gallon ponds read 76 degrees F. So, no change from last week. I squirted off all the Matala in the Biosteps filter. I forgot to change the PondMaster filters but did squirt them off. I squirted all the other filter materials, put in additives, and topped off the ponds.
5. Pond work again on 8/25/24 at 2:06 pm. The 1800 gallon pond was at 72 degrees F, the 153 gallon pond was at 74 degrees F, and the air temperature was 84 degrees F but did not feel too uncomfortable. I changed the PondMaster filters which I missed last week. I squirted off all the filter materials, put in additives, and topped the ponds off with water.
