1. I was utterly devastated when my cat, Tinkerbelle, passed away on 9/3/23. Even as I'm typing this, I can't even talk about it yet (was just yesterday).
2. I did pond chores on 9/3/23 right after she passed because all I know is how to keep doing chores. At 11:30, the air temperature was 86 degrees F. The 1800 gallon pond was at 72 degrees F, and the 153 gallon pond was at 74 degrees F. I squirted all the filter materials, added water, and added additives.
3. On Labor Day, 9/4/23, my brother came over to help close the pool, and I asked if he could help put the net on the big pond three weeks early. Due to global warming, and a severe drought, there were so many leaves falling that I just had to put the net on. Everything is drying up and dying. I asked him to pick up leaves around the pond while I went in the water but he got side tracked pulling up Japanese stilt grass. He was helpful when he held the new net on one side while I could pull it across. I normally have to fight the nets alone.
4. At 1:15 pm on 9/10/13, the air temperature was 77 degrees F with 100% humidity as we finally got rain the previous two nights (and two power outages while I should have been sleeping so I lost half my sleep). Both thermometers read 74 degrees F. I changed the PondMaster filters. I squirted off all the filter materials including the Biosteps Matala, the bioballs, and the lava rock.
5. I started pond work on 9/17/23 at 10:35 when the air temperature was 67 degrees F. I squirted the PondMaster filters, topped off the ponds, and put in additives. I put the torn net that I used for the big pond during the summer over the 153 gallon pond. I sewed a gaping hole with fishing line. It started to rain pretty well so I stopped.
I went back out at 4:37 pm after afternoon chores when it was raining even harder. I got in the big pond to shake leaves off the net and remove all the filter materials which I squirted off. I wore a baseball cap to keep the rain off my glasses. I did get soaked but went right to a warm shower afterwards.
6. It was 64 degrees F out and rainy on 9/27/23 at 1:19 pm. It rained all weekend. I put on a baseball cap to keep the water off my glasses so I could see. Both thermometers in the 1800 and 153 gallon ponds read 64 degrees F. I squirted all the filter materials and put in additives. I certainly did not need to add water as we got about three inches of rain over the weekend. I tried not to be outside for too long on this day.
